Our "Favorite" Kitchen Project...

1. Here we have the Mr. starting destruction in the kitchen. He looks to be enjoying himself a little too much. :)

2. Our cabinets came September, 2005. It was a very exciting moment!
3. After destruction and repairs of one side of the kitchen the Mr. and Mrs. started painting the kitchen a beautiful shade of blue.

4. After the painting the Mr. and Papa Shep hang the first set of cabinets!! Don't they look nice?!
5. We decided it was time to take up the floor, which turned out to be floors...there were at least four floors including our current floor. Oh, and there's Samus saying hello!

6. Now that all the electrical, walls, and cabinets were done on one half of the kitchen it was time to tear down the soffit on the other side.

7. Here's Papa Shep and the Mr. working away. They make an awesome team!!

8. I don't know what the Mr. is doing, but LOOK there's no more soffit!

9. The Mr. and Papa Shep reconstructed our "indoor" window to make it bigger. They did a fantabulous job!

10. Here is the kitchen just before the end of a long days work.

The Mr., Mrs., Papa Shep, and other Family Members have been working very hard in the kitchen. Not pictured is the Mrs., her Mom, and Aunt taking down the wallpaper the previous owners were kind enough to leave behind. Also not pictured are pictures of the Mrs. actually working. Believe it or not she has been helping out. :P

It being August, 2006, the Mr. and Mrs.'s kitchen is much farther than this now and looking amazing! This is just all the pictures available at this time.

Samus the Guard Pup

Samus is quite the guard dog. We knew that Samus could bark with the best of them about a week after we got her, but it wasn't until our first full summer with her that knew her full guard dog abilities. We live in a wonderfully old house, which is not hooked up for central air, so in the summer time we have a lot of windows and doors open. When Samus is not napping in front of the box fan she is starring out the front door keeping watch for anything
that looks "suspicious." To Samus any other dog is suspicious, anyone walking by is suspicious, anyone making noise in their yards is suspicious, and worst of all noises that nature makes (for example wind blowing) are suspicious. Some days she's such a good guard dog that we shut the door to give her a break from her duties.

When Samus can't look out the door to keep an eye on things she looks out our front window or the back slider door. It looks like everything is ok, she's just interested in what's out there. Samus would be sure to let us know if something was up, you can count on that! :)

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd

Mr.

Accountant and Handyman

Mrs.
Tall, Natually Blonde, and Very Beautiful
Teacher and Artist

A Pup Named Samus

This is our cute little puppy. We got her August, 2005 as an anniversary gift to each other. It was tough getting the Mr. to want a dog, but the Mrs. worked real hard researching the best kind of dog for our small little house. We decided that the size and smarts of a Shetland Sheepdog would be just right.

The Mrs. got to have a dog, so the Mr. got to name it. He chose to name her Samus Aran after one of his favorite video game characters. For those of you that don't know, Samus Aran is the female hero of the video game Metriod.

Here is a very cute picture of our Samus after a long day visiting the Shep Srs. for the first time. We chose not to tell anyone we were getting a pet as to surprise them all with a face they could't resist. Samus was just that face and Mama and Papa Shep could not resist. They even chose to get a dog after saying they would never have a pet again. :)

Samus turned one in people years on July 7. She got the cutest little chew toy as a birthday gift.

As Samus has grown she has gone from cute and adorable to cute and extremely beautiful. See for your self in these next few pictures...

Samus loves to play with her toys and each of them have a fabulous name. There's Donkey (her favorite and the one "she came with"), Boney, Ropey, Red Ropey, Redround, Kong (that toy came with its name and was her first Christmas present), and Krinkle Squeek (her first birthday present). There is also Hoopey, which really isn't a toy, but a trick...we've taught Samus how to jump through a Hula Hoop. It's quite cute really.

Remember how I told you that Mama and Papa Shep got a dog too? Well they got an Australian Shepherd from a dog rescue group. His name is Calder and he is very handsome. Mama and Papa Shep really like having him around. Calder loves to play with his toys, do lots of tricks including roll over, ride in the van, go shopping and the pet store, and chase Samus around his house, her house, and her back yard! At first Samus wasn't so sure about Calder, but after a little bit a sniffing, barking, and getting chased she got used to the idea and even wimpered when Calder had to leave.

Here is Samus trapped by Calder. Calder loves to trap Samus and it seems like Samus likes to get trapped. Why do I think this you ask...well she'll run around the yard a little while being chased by Calder and then she runs right for a corner and lets him trap her there. She stays there until Calder loses interest and then she catches his attention only to do it all over again. What a silly doggie.

That's all for now for "A Pup Named Samus."
